  • Founder & Principal

Ben is a founder and principal of Spreter | Petiprin and additionally serves as the managing attorney for its Orange County, California office. With eight years of litigation experience representing both businesses and individuals, as well as first- and second-chairing numerous trials and being licensed to practice law in four states, Ben is a fierce, accomplished, and well-respected advocate for the firm’s clients.

After graduating from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2007, Ben concentrated his practice on consumer fraud, mass tort, and antitrust litigation. He worked on a wide array of legal matters, ranging from wildfire litigation (2007 San Diego Wildfire Cases) to antitrust litigation against Asian LCD television manufacturers to consumer fraud litigation against developers of “As Seen on TV” products.

Ben then spent nearly two years representing individuals and corporations in general litigation disputes, including personal injury, breach of contract, fraud, and construction defect with Farmer Case & Fedor, managing the firm’s practice in Las Vegas, Nevada, while actively litigating cases in both Nevada and California. Ben worked directly with insurance adjustors and managers, gaining unique insight in the process afforded the insured individual when making claims under insurance policies. This insight helps Ben obtain the maximum amount of compensation for the firm’s clients when an insurance policy is involved, and allows him to guide the firm’s clients through the insurance claims and lawsuit process professionally and efficiently.

Ben then spent over five years representing mortgage lenders and servicers in mortgage default litigation in California, Nevada, Washington, and Oregon with Zieve, Brodnax & Steele, LLP.  Ben first- and second-chaired numerous foreclosure trials, defended mortgage lenders from accusations of fraud and predatory lending, and served as bankruptcy and evictions counsel. Ben was promoted from associate attorney to the Director of Litigation for the firm’s practice in all states, managing 20+ attorneys and staff members. Like working directly with insurance companies, working with mortgage servicers gives Ben a unique insight in the world of corporate litigation and claims dispute, including assessing company cost/benefit decisions regarding litigation, a key insight into quick and maximum recovery for firm clients. Ben’s commentary on caselaw and legislative developments was featured in numerous industry publications, and Ben frequently traveled the country, giving presentations on the development of the law and training client employees.

In 2017, Ben formed Spreter | Petiprin with Geoff Spreter, a longtime friend and colleague from law school. After being on the “other side,” Ben is determined to put his specialized knowledge and skills to work solely for the benefit of wronged consumers, individuals, and homeowners. Ben is licensed to practice law in the states of California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington, as well as all of the federal district and bankruptcy courts within those states.
